On 5 January, IN140 held a large-scale community service “Growth together for making result”. Together with nearly 150 volunteers, IN140 brought a day of care and joy for 33 patients with tuberous sclerosis complex and their families. By organizing activities and raising donations for them, throughout this event, more people will know and care about the disease. They raised a total of more than $173,000 and donated more than $81,000 through the Foundation to the Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Association of Hong Kong.

Earlier, we invited Rebecca, the president of Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Association of Hong Kong, to join the cheque hand over ceremony. Rebecca shared with us about the daily difficulties and expensive drug charges encountered by the patients. They also learned that there are still more rare diseases in Hong Kong but are often ignored by the public because they are not very familiar with them.

Letting us understand that the current social medical system/welfare improvement is very important for patients with rare diseases. The health that is easy for us to have is untouchable for them. Even the drugs used for treatment are hard to have, and the treatment process is very long. As a pillar of society, we should contribute to society and help voice out for this group of rare diseases patients, awakening the public's attention and understanding to them! I believe that as long as we walk with them, creating a world of love, joy and contribution, the society must be better!
